Job Description

Job Summary: We are seeking a strategic and results-driven Head of Procurement to lead the procurement and sourcing functions for our's client - a global F&B manufacturing operations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing end-to-end purchasing activities, developing cost-effective procurement strategies, managing vendor relationships, and ensuring the uninterrupted supply of raw materials, packaging, and services critical to food production.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement strategic procurement plans aligned with business goals.

  • Oversee sourcing and purchasing of raw materials, ingredients, packaging, indirect materials, and services.

  • Ensure cost-effectiveness while maintaining quality and compliance with food safety standards (e.g., HACCP, GMP, ISO, etc.).

  • Lead vendor selection, negotiation, contract management, and performance evaluation.

  • Build and maintain strong supplier relationships, including international sourcing where necessary.

  • Monitor market trends, price volatility, and supply risks to maintain procurement agility.

  • Collaborate with production, R&D, quality, and supply chain teams to align procurement with operational needs.

  • Ensure timely and efficient procurement to avoid stockouts and production delays.

  • Optimize inventory levels through planning, forecasting, and JIT strategies.

  • Drive procurement digitization, ERP integration, and process improvements.

  • Lead, coach, and develop the procurement team to achieve performance targets.

 

Experience Requirements: Direct Procurement Experience:
  • Minimum 8–10 years of progressive experience in direct procurement within the food & beverage manufacturing industry.

  • Proven track record in sourcing and purchasing raw materials, ingredients, additives, packaging materials (e.g., bottles, cartons, labels, films), and agricultural commodities.

  • Strong understanding of food safety regulations, supply chain traceability, and quality standards (e.g., HACCP, GMP, ISO 22000).

  • Experience in developing cost-saving initiatives while ensuring continuity of supply and product quality.

  • Knowledge of contract farming, supplier audits, and local/international sourcing strategies.

Indirect Procurement Experience:
  • Solid exposure to indirect procurement including sourcing of MRO (maintenance, repair, and operations) supplies, CAPEX equipment, utilities, logistics services, IT systems, facility services, and professional services.

  • Ability to evaluate and negotiate vendor agreements for service providers, ensuring cost-efficiency and SLA compliance.

  • Experience in managing procurement for plant expansion, automation, or production line upgrades is a strong advantage.

  • Familiar with budgeting, project-based purchasing, and alignment of procurement strategies with long-term operational needs.
